BIO

I am a postdoctoral Research Fellow at UCL Institute of Education, where I am based in the Centre for Global Youth, Department of Education, Practice and Society (EPS). Prior to joining UCL in March 2023, I was a Research Associate in the Department of Geography & Environment at Loughborough University (2020-2022), where I supported the Leverhulme Trust-funded 'Tutored Childhoods' study. I have also worked intermittently (2020, 2022) as a Research Associate in the Department of Education at the University of Bath, where I supported the ESRC-funded project 'Geographies of higher education'.

I have worked closely with education policymakers and youth practitioners, and undertook a UKRI Policy Research Internship within the UK Government Department for Education's Strategy Unit in 2018, leading research on higher education access in England and Wales, and coordinating knowledge-exchange exercises between policymakers and academic researchers. I have also contributed to research published by the Social Mobility Commission on social, racialised and geographical inequities in young people's engagement in extracurricular activities. I received my PhD from the University of Bath in 2021 and an MRes degree in research methods from the University of East Anglia in 2016.
